The day of the anticipated ball started off at my place. Three of my good friends came over to get ready. I, never having been one to dedicate considerable time to aesthetic preparation, was quite shocked by the amount of clothing, products and other miscellaneous beauty items used, and by the end of the day, covering my entire bedroom. In wake of the light-hearted atmosphere I brainlessly decided to leave the clean-up for the next day. The following picture is what I woke up to the morning after.
CAUTION - ALL HOST MOTHERS AVERT YOUR EYES!
My apologies host mom.
Continuing on...
After our rushed preparation, our small troop of exchange students headed down to the gymnasium. Two girls from our party are in the 3g, so they needed to be down at the school, ready to get their class pictures taken. For the rest of us, it meant a couple hours of waiting around, but it's never so bad when you're in good company.
The rest of the evening was pleasant and played out just like your typical formal high school dance. There was ample food, dancing and merry-making. Notwithstanding we did have one impediment. The school had forgotten to organize a table for us exchange students. Not to worry though, they ended up turning the faculty table into the exchange student table. All in all it was a successful experience.
Now for some more pictures.
Above you're observing the 3g's dancing a dance called the "Lancier". It's always dance at galla, however I did not partake (I'm only in 2g).
Here's the group shot of all the exchange students who attended (we're missing 3). Can you tell we all just LOVE colour?
The cantina was transformed into a fancier version of its school self. The atmosphere was definitely "hyggeligt".
And last, but not least our little exchange student table. Love these guys :-)
